Present a show
Fuzzy Radio plays indie, post-punk and guitar pop, from the late 70s to bands who formed last year. We're testing online now, and we'll launch on DAB in East London and Essex, to over 2.8 million potential listeners, once we have a team of regular presenters in place.
That's where you come in. We're looking for people who love this music as much as we do to record a weekly show.
What we're looking for
- A pre-recorded show that you make at home and send to us. We may add live shows in the future.
- Ideally two hours, every week. If a shorter or longer show suits you better, talk to us. A regular weekly slot is what matters most.
- Your choice of music, within the Fuzzy Radio sound: indie, alternative, post-punk, Britpop, shoegaze, new music and everything in between. Specialist shows are very welcome, whether that's one decade, one scene, one country or brand-new bands.
- Evening shows. Your show will usually go out first in the evening, with repeats overnight for listeners in North America, Asia and Australia. Every show will also be on our website to listen again.
- Original shows only. Your show should be made for Fuzzy Radio. We don't broadcast syndicated shows that go out on other stations.
- We're based in the UK. You don't have to be.
The ground rules
Fuzzy Radio will broadcast on DAB, so every show has to follow the Ofcom Broadcasting Code. In practice that means:
- Clean edits only. No swearing at all, at any time of day.
- No political endorsements, and nothing else that could break the Broadcasting Code.
- No adverts, sponsorship or paid plugs.
- No AI presenters and no AI-generated music (obviously).
- Send your show at least 24 hours before it airs, as an MP3 at 192 kbps.
A labour of love
Presenting on Fuzzy Radio is a volunteer role and it's unpaid. The station doesn't make any money, and nobody involved is paid: we run it because we love the music, and we're looking for presenters who feel the same way.
In return, your show goes out online and on DAB, we promote it on our website and social media, and it stays on the site for people to listen again.
Interested?
Tell us a bit about yourself and the show you'd like to make, including the kind of music you'd play and a few of the artists, so we can see if it fits the station. Links to any shows, mixes or playlists you've made before are a big help, but they're not essential.
